Coatings

Which coating should be used on matte paint?

Every paint-dedicated coating in our range can be safely applied to matte and satin finishes. Our products do not contain gloss-enhancing additives that could alter the original structure or texture of the finish.

Which coatings should be applied to a specific surface type?

Selecting the correct coating for a specific surface is critical to achieving maximum durability and the desired visual effect. Below is the professional breakdown of the applications for each coating in our INTELIGRAPH SERIES:

Skyline - Painted surfaces. Skyline is an advanced ceramic coating engineered specifically for automotive paint protection. Its primary mission is to deliver extreme hydrophobicity and a deep, glass-like gloss. It creates a hard protective barrier on the bodywork that effectively shields the paint from micro-scratches, UV rays, and harsh chemicals, while significantly simplifying routine maintenance.

Aurora - Universal coating. Aurora is an incredibly versatile product that combines ease of application with high performance on almost any vehicle surface - from paintwork to wheels and plastics. It serves as an ideal standalone protection for those seeking fast results, as well as a premium ""topper"" to refresh and reinforce the properties of previously applied ceramic coatings.

Vista - Glass surfaces. A dedicated coating for glass, commonly known as an ""invisible wiper,"" which greatly improves visibility when driving in difficult weather conditions. Vista creates a durable, ultra-smooth layer on the glass that allows water droplets to be swept away by the airflow even at low speeds, significantly enhancing both safety and travel comfort.

Gravity - Metals & Unpainted plastics. This specialized coating was developed to perform under harsh conditions, making it perfect for protecting metal components (e.g., rims, exhaust tips) and unpainted plastic trim. On plastics, it restores deep color and prevents fading; on metals, it creates a barrier resistant to high temperatures and aggressive brake dust.

Which coating from the ULTRACOAT line is the most durable?

Selecting the most durable coating depends on clearly defining your needs and the conditions in which the vehicle is used. At ULTRACOAT, we believe that durability is not just a dry time-based parameter, but above all the product’s ability to maintain its protective properties in a specific usage scenario.

For the most demanding users seeking long-term protection, we offer SKYLINE, a coating that provides an effective barrier against adverse external factors while retaining its properties for up to 3 years or 80,000 km.

Within hybrid technology, we offer VISTA - thanks to the presence of graphene platelets, it delivers exceptional durability and high driving comfort in the rain for up to 2 years, while maintaining resistance to extreme temperatures and UV radiation.

For those looking for shorter-term protection combined with outstanding visual results, AURORA is the right choice. It provides resistance to external factors and aggressive chemicals with extreme pH levels for up to 9 months after application.

The highest level of mechanical and chemical durability in our portfolio is represented by PREMIUM BOND 9H. This is our most advanced coating, available exclusively to Accredited Partners, designed to protect the paintwork for years even under the most demanding operating conditions.

This clearly defined gradation makes it possible to precisely match the ULTRACOAT protection system to the intended vehicle usage and the intensity of its maintenance.

What are the properties and applications of the INTELIGRAPH series coatings?

The INTELIGRAPH series consists of advanced protective coatings based on intelligent polymers, designed for maximum durability and stability in everyday use. Can a different Top Coat be applied instead of Hydro HD?

Yes, choosing a different topcoat finish is possible; however, it’s important to keep the specifics of the base layer in mind. Hydro HD is a coating with a very thin structure, designed to bond perfectly with the extremely dense surface created after Bond application. In some cases, the paintwork becomes so smooth and “non-receptive” after the base coat that thicker products such as Skyline or Magnite may struggle to bond correctly to the surface.

Can Skyline and Aurora coatings be layered (the so-called "sandwich" method)?

Applying multiple layers of either Skyline or Aurora is not recommended, as it does not increase their durability or improve their protective properties. These products are engineered to deliver their full potential - including extreme hydrophobicity and gloss - with just a single layer.

However, if you are interested in layering, it is possible to combine two different coatings using the so-called ""sandwich"" method. The key is to follow the correct sequence: first, apply the more durable coating, followed by the less durable one as the top layer. In practice, this means you can apply Skyline as the base and Aurora as the top coat.

Are your coatings suitable for protecting PPF (Paint Protection Film)?

Yes, all of our paint-dedicated coatings can be safely used on PPF, extending its lifespan and making cleaning much easier. Additionally, they enhance the hydrophobic properties of the film and help maintain this effect for a longer period during use. The only exceptions are films where the manufacturer explicitly advises against using additional protective coatings due to their specific top-layer structure.

Are your coatings suitable for protecting vinyl wraps?

Yes, our paint-dedicated coatings are fully suitable for protecting vinyl wraps. Much like with PPF, a protective coating significantly simplifies vinyl maintenance, protects it from fading due to UV radiation, and increases its resistance to chemicals and road grime. Additionally, these coatings improve the film's hydrophobic properties and extend the duration of this effect.

Will applying a coating add gloss to matte surfaces?

The coating will not increase the gloss of matte or satin surfaces - they will retain their original finish.

Is it possible to shorten the car pick-up time after coating application (standard 12/24h)?

The standard curing time of 12 to 24 hours is essential for the coating to harden correctly under ambient temperatures. However, this process can be safely shortened by curing the protected surfaces with infrared (IR) lamps. The higher temperature accelerates the polymer cross-linking process, allowing the vehicle to leave the studio sooner.

Can I wash the car with chemicals within the first few days after coating application?

We do not recommend using any chemical cleaning agents during the first 7 days after application. If the vehicle gets dirty during this period, we recommend rinsing it only with deionized or demineralized water.

Which coating should I choose for a glass roof - one for windows or for paint?

For protecting a glass roof, we strongly recommend using coatings specifically dedicated to glass surfaces, such as ULTRACOAT Vista or Umbrella. Although these roofs are an integral part of the bodywork, their physical structure corresponds to automotive glass rather than painted metal components.

Can any of your coatings be applied to tires?

We do not recommend applying ceramic coatings or other products based on strong solvents to tires, as their aggressive formulations can negatively affect the rubber structure and lead to damage. Tires operate under dynamic conditions and require products with appropriate flexibility; therefore, for tire protection we recommend dedicated dressings such as Quartz Tire Dressing.

Are any of your coatings suitable for protecting headlights?

Yes, for protecting headlights, we recommend using our paint-dedicated coatings. If the headlight no longer has its factory protective layer on the polycarbonate, a trim coating (dedicated to plastics) can also be used.

What works better as a coating booster - Aurora or Skyline?

For routine maintenance after washing, products like Ceramic Q-Detailer are ideal. As a booster during a professional coating maintenance service, you can use Scoat v2 or Aurora.

Do Magnite or Skyline coatings require a new Top Coat layer every year?

We recommend applying a chosen booster every six months as the final stage of a coating maintenance service - this significantly supports its performance. However, the most critical factor in keeping the coating in pristine condition is regular hand washing and the immediate removal of road contaminants, such as insects, after long drives.

Can your coatings be applied at a temperature of 5°C?

A temperature of 5°C may be too low for the coating to bond properly with the surface. Both temperature and humidity at the application site are critical - a temperature that is too low can impair the bonding process and negatively affect the coating's long-term performance and effectiveness.

Can I move the car outside immediately after applying the coating?

We recommend that the coating curing process takes place indoors, under stable and controlled conditions. This is crucial for the molecules to bond correctly with the surface and to achieve the product's optimal protective properties.

Can your coatings be applied using a spray method?

We recommend strictly following the application method detailed in the instructions provided with each product.

Can I wash a car with ULTRACOAT coatings at a touchless (jet) car wash?

Using a touchless car wash is acceptable for a quick refresh, but it should not be the only form of maintenance. It is important to remember that aggressive chemicals and incomplete removal of road film can eventually lead to the coating becoming ""clogged.""
Learn more in our article: [https://ultracoat.pl/en/how-to-maintain-a-ceramic-coating/]

Can I wash a car with ULTRACOAT coatings at an automatic car wash?

We strongly advise against using automatic car washes. Washing a vehicle with rotating brushes is an extremely invasive process that quickly leads to the deterioration of the vehicle's condition.

What is the "intelligent polymer technology" in the INTELIGRAPH series?

The INTELIGRAPH Series is the most advanced paint protection line in our range, based on the synergy of four key components: silica (SiO2), silicon carbide (SiC), graphene, and our proprietary intelligent polymers. Yes, the durability of the coating on matte and glossy paint is exactly the same. The type of surface finish (gloss, satin, or matte) does not affect the chemical properties of the coating or its ability to bond with the substrate.

Aurora on exterior plastics - how long should I wait before buffing?

Depending on the type of plastic and how absorbent it is, you can buff the coating, but this isn't necessary in every case. If the surface is evenly darkened after application without any visible streaks or product residue, you may leave it without buffing. However, if you notice high spots or uneven coverage, you should buff the surface to achieve a perfect finish. The flash-off and buffing time depends on the specific coating used and the conditions at the application site.

Does applying two layers of Skyline make sense?

No, in the case of the Skyline coating, applying a second layer is neither necessary nor recommended. The formula of this product was developed so that a single layer provides optimal thickness, maximum protection, and the declared hydrophobic properties.

Should I apply a rim coating before or after wheel balancing?

Wheels can be protected before balancing. However, the surface must be thoroughly degreased before attaching the wheel weights to ensure they adhere properly.

Can I use the same applicator (e.g., Cube) the next day?

We strongly advise against reusing the same applicator once the coating has completely dried. Ceramic particles crystallize within the microfiber fibers, causing them to become hard and sharp. Attempting to reuse them can lead to scratching the paintwork.

Is coating application safe for health?

Our coatings contain solvents with a characteristic odor. We recommend working in well-ventilated areas. In the absence of proper air circulation or during long-term professional use, it is recommended to use a protective mask with an organic vapor filter and protective gloves.

This volume allows you to fully test their application, performance, and long-term results under various conditions.

What is the shelf expiry date of ULTRACOAT products?

We print a "best before" date on our products to suggest the ideal usage period. In the case of ceramic coatings, the product should be used within 6 months after the bottle has been opened.

It is always worth adding an extra item to your cart to save on delivery costs! If you require larger quantities or purchase products regularly for your business, please contact us to discuss a permanent professional discount.

Is 30 ml of the product enough for two layers?
